Counting on ZERO

Zero Dropouts was founded by Steve Dobo in the fall of 2011 in response to the increasing high school dropout crisis in America. Steve had created Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) in 2005 to respond to the Colorado high school dropout crisis, and had learned a lot in those 6 years. With CYC one of the only organizations across the country addressing the dropout issue within a state, Steve felt ready to take what he has learned to the next level and deal with other states besides Colorado. In addressing the national crisis, Steve knew that he would have to develop different systems and approaches that would make the services more efficient and cost-effective, but still maintaining the relationship-oriented approach that is a hallmark of CYC.
